Within Reach Campaign

#WithinReach is a campaign to put high-quality child care and pre-k within reach for working families.  The campaign will create momentum and elevate the need for a national public solution for child care and pre-k as a major priority in the 2016 election through public education, strategic messaging and advocacy for national and state-based partners.

State Agencies & Other Great Resources

  • Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities (KCCTO) is a state-wide training office dedicated to providing quality, accessible, professional development opportunities to family child care providers, child care center staff and other early education professionals throughout Kansas.
  • Child Care Aware of Kansas serves as the administrator of the statewide Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) network of Kansas.  The mission is to ensure that families have access to affordable, high-quality care; lead early learning projects that include professional development and technical assistance/coaching to promote knowledgeable early learning staff; and advocate for positive changes that impact the lives of children and families.
  • Kansas Association for Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health’s(KAIMH) mission is to advance and promote the field of infant and early childhood mental through professional recognition and connection, providing education opportunities, and promoting and advancing for public policies that advance the importance of the social and emotional development of infants and young children.
  • Kansas Action for Children’s mission is to shape health, education and economic policy that will improve the lives of Kansas children and families.
  • Kansas Department of Health and Environment – Child Care Licensing
  • Safe Kids Kansas is led by Kansas Department of Health and Environment, which provides dedicated and care staff, operational support and other resources to assist in achieving our common goal: keeping kids safe.
  • Kansas State Department of Education – Early Childhood
  • Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition (KBC) is comprised of individuals from a wide variety of organizations, agencies and private businesses all working collaboratively to promote and protect breastfeeding in order to improve the health of Kansas families.
  • Breastfeeding Support in the Child Care Setting resource is the result of a partnership with multiple organizations, including KSAEYC. Child care providers influence the lives and health of the families they serve and can be an important source of support for working mothers who want to breastfeed.
  • Poison Control Center at The University of Kansas Hospital released a new resource in 2017, Hunter & Scout’s Poison Patrol Program, to offer an “easy and fun way” to teach the topic of poison prevention to children.
  • Child Care Providers Coalition of Kansas is a not-for profit organization founded for and by family child care providers in Kansas as a support group for strength and unity in representing our viewpoint in child care issues.
